i went to see explosions in the sky on saturday night in LA with everybodys favorite bad girl gigi hodges. it was really good. we were up in the balcony were all the boozers were. in front of us there was a table where a couple in their 60's were sitting. i thought that maybe they were the parents or grandparents of the guy who went on before explosions called eluvium, who played moody piano music accompanied by home made paintings on a slideshow a la luke style. but when he ended, they did not get up to leave, rather they ordered more drinks. a little bit later, a heard the man say to some guy that they "missed them in seattle last year" and went on talking about explosions in the pants.

a band that i have started to listen to but only through the internet is the arcade fire. supposedly they are from helens country and are very good live. they are the next band i really want to see live. their music is very good and is reminiscent of the flaming lips. but not in a bad way. i like the flaming lips but not really. i cant listen to their music like i can the arcade fire. it is good but unlistenable to me most of the time. i had heard about the arcade fire first in the new york times. they had just played a show there in new york. and then on pitchfork.
