my greatness as a man

i have been listening to city of caterpillar a lot since i have been in new york. i have not listened to them that much before now, as i find a lot of hardcore music more inaccessible than pop music. but i have found that since i have listened to it a number of times, it has been very rewarding. plus, i feel they have a lot of other elements that most hardcore bands miss out on. you know, since i am an expert of hardcore music. it is funny thinking back to when they played at the art front gallery three years ago. back then i was pretty aloof with music. missions tend to make one that way (socially retarded and unaware of things). for two years the only music i listened to with the exception of EFY music and church songs, were the pop music that they played on the radio and three tapes that ted the big head christenson made for me. these tapes were:

weezer, blue album on one side, the green album on the other

a mix of belle and sebastian

radiohead's kid a and amnesiac

at one point in june 2001, my companion elder warick and i were pretending to be in weezer, him playing the drums and me the guitar. i think we did this to pretty much the whole blue album. needless to say (but i will say it anyway), it was the single most amazing experience of my life.
